Jomtien Beach is scheduled to host five days of international jet ski racing from January 13–17, 2027, when the WGP#1 Waterjet World Cup returns to Pattaya.
The Jet Ski World Cup Pattaya 2027 combines the Waterjet World Cup with the final round of the WGP#1 Waterjet World Series and the Asian Continental Championships. It also marks the 31st anniversary of the King’s Cup – World Cup event.
For locals and visitors staying in Pattaya or planning a January trip, it is one to keep an eye on. The programme covers a wide range of watercraft racing, from professional competition to amateur, junior and freestyle events.
The event dates are listed in the official race notice, while PR Pattaya’s announcement provides further confirmation of the planned event and the city’s involvement.
What to expect
The official race notice lists 29 competition categories across different skill levels and types of watercraft. These include professional and amateur classes, women’s and veterans’ categories, junior racing, endurance events and freestyle.
The World Series final adds another dimension to the event, with overall series winners determined after three rounds. The Asian Continental Championships will also recognise the highest-ranking Asian riders in each class.
There is substantial prize money at stake. The organisers list a total prize purse of more than ฿8.1 million, with first-place prizes of ฿1.5 million in each of the Pro Ski Grand Prix and Pro Runabout 2000 GP categories.
The combination of fast racing, close competition and freestyle riding should make for an interesting spectacle, even for visitors who don’t follow the sport.
Can you watch for free?
Previous editions have been held along Jomtien Beach, with spectators able to watch the racing from the shore. A recent travel report also describes beachside viewing as free, although we have not yet been able to find an official announcement confirming the admission arrangements for the 2027 event.
For now, it is safest to treat public viewing as likely but not yet officially confirmed for 2027. Access to any grandstands or designated viewing areas may have separate arrangements.
The race notice is primarily intended for competitors and does not provide confirmed public viewing details or a spectator timetable.
