Road Closures & Traffic
The event will affect traffic around Jomtien, Pratumnak and Dong Tan Beach during the early morning.
Traffic restrictions around the start and finish area on Soi Hat Dong Tan are scheduled from approximately 4:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Some roads will have lane restrictions rather than being completely closed, with officials stationed at key intersections to manage traffic.
If you’re travelling through Jomtien or Pratumnak early on Sunday morning, allow extra time and expect some temporary diversions.
A Charity Run
LOMA RUN On The Beach is not just a sporting event. All proceeds remaining after event expenses will go towards scholarships for underprivileged children through the HHN Foundation for Thai Children.

Buakaw Banchamek will return to the ring in Pattaya on October 3, 2026, when he faces China’s Meng Gao Feng in the headline fight of Max Fight x Red Fist Strike at Max Stadium Pattaya.
The highly anticipated fight is a rematch of their April meeting in Kuala Lumpur, when Buakaw defeated Meng by unanimous decision.
The Pattaya event was officially announced at a press conference on August 25, attended by Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet, representatives of Max Muay Thai, the event promoter, police and other local officials. The event is being promoted as part of Pattaya’s wider push to establish itself as a Sports City and attract more sports tourism.
Buakaw vs Meng Gao Feng
The main event will see Thai combat sports star Buakaw Banchamek face Chinese fighter Meng Gao Feng for a second time.
Their first meeting took place on April 24, 2026, at T Fight All Stars in Kuala Lumpur. Buakaw won the three-round contest by unanimous decision.
The October fight is therefore being promoted as a rematch, with Meng getting the opportunity to try to avenge his previous defeat.
Speaking at the Pattaya press conference, Buakaw said he was giving Meng the opportunity to come back and try to correct the mistakes he made in their first meeting. He also suggested that the Chinese fighter will have prepared carefully after seeing what went wrong in the previous fight.
With Buakaw one of Thailand’s best-known combat sports stars and Meng already having shared the ring with him once, the rematch provides a strong headline for the Pattaya event.

Pattaya’s annual Bikini Beach Race returns on Halloween this year, with the 10th anniversary edition taking place along Pattaya Beach on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
Despite the name, this is much more of a colourful 5K beach fun run and party than the title might suggest. Bikinis are certainly part of the event’s visual identity, but they are not required, and previous editions have seen runners taking part in everything from regular running gear to elaborate and novelty costumes.
With the race followed by a beach party, music and the newly promoted “Glow Party”, the event is as much about the atmosphere as the running.
A 5K run on Pattaya Beach
The race covers 5 kilometres entirely on the sand at Pattaya Beach, starting and finishing in front of Central Pattaya.
The route heads along the beach before turning around at the northern and southern ends and returning to the Central Pattaya area. Running 5 km on sand is rather different from running the same distance on a road, but this is primarily intended as a fun and social event rather than a serious competitive race.
The event has become surprisingly large in recent years. The 2025 edition attracted more than 5,000 runners from around 30 countries, turning a large section of Pattaya Beach into a lively spectacle.
That also makes it worth considering if you aren’t planning to run. Spectators can watch the runners, enjoy the atmosphere around the start and finish area and stay on for the entertainment afterwards.
Do you actually have to wear a bikini?
No.
While bikinis and beachwear are obviously a major part of the event’s identity, there is no requirement to run in a bikini or swimwear. Normal running clothes are perfectly fine, and costumes have traditionally been a feature of the event.
In previous years, runners have turned up in all kinds of colourful and novelty outfits, with costume competitions forming part of the post-race celebrations.
That should be even more noticeable in 2026, as the race falls on Halloween.
So if you’re looking for a Halloween event with a difference, the Pattaya International Bikini Beach Race 2026 offers plenty of scope for dressing up without taking the name of the race too literally.
More than just a run

Don’t expect a major international music festival, however. The entertainment is best thought of as part of the wider beach-party atmosphere rather than the main reason to attend.
The biggest attraction is the spectacle of thousands of runners in colourful costumes making their way along Pattaya Beach, followed by an evening of music and celebrations around Central Pattaya.
Watching the Bikini Beach Race
You don’t need to register for the race to enjoy the event.
The Central Pattaya beachfront is the main focal point, with the race starting and finishing directly in front of the shopping centre. This is also where the post-race entertainment takes place, making it the obvious place to be if you want to experience the event without running.
With thousands of participants expected, the beachfront can become very busy. If you’re attending as a spectator, arriving around 5 PM gives you time to find a good viewing spot and experience some of the pre-race atmosphere rather than arriving just as the runners are setting off.
The race itself takes place in the evening, and the event continues afterwards with music, lighting and the Halloween-themed celebrations.

The event is being positioned by the city as a way to promote Muay Thai as a cultural heritage asset and a tourism draw, under Thailand’s ongoing “soft power” strategy.
Why this Muay Thai event is different
While Pattaya hosts Muay Thai every week at indoor venues such as Max Muay Thai Stadium, King of Fight Sand Fury is designed as a public beachfront event. With a ring built directly on the sand and free admission, it’s intended as both a “King of Muay Thai” spectacle and a tourism showcase, bringing professional fighters, cultural performances and local food together in a unique setting.

At the heart of the event is the Sand Fury Arena — a boxing ring built directly on Pattaya Beach, complete with LED screens, spectator stands, and dedicated VIP, media and athlete areas. One of the headline attractions is former WBC Muaythai and WKN welterweight world champion Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee, who remains active on the Thai fight circuit. His inclusion suggests organisers are aiming for a genuinely competitive event rather than simply staging an exhibition for tourists.

Pattaya Marathon 2026 will take place on 26–27 September 2026, with registration opening on 5 August 2026.
Following a revised procurement process earlier this year, Pattaya City appointed Thailand Tri League as the event organiser. The official Pattaya Marathon website and Facebook page have now confirmed the revised race dates and registration opening date.
The Pattaya Marathon is one of Thailand’s largest annual running events, attracting thousands of runners from across Thailand and overseas for a weekend of races through Pattaya and Jomtien.
Registration Fees, Race Shirts & Finisher Medals Announced (Updated 23 July 2026)
Pattaya Marathon organisers have released the official registration fees, along with the first look at the 2026 race shirts, finisher shirts and medals. Registration still opens on 5 August 2026, with discounted Special Rate pricing available for a limited number of runners before standard pricing begins.
Places are expected to be popular, particularly for the longer race distances, so early registration is recommended.
All registration fees are subject to an additional 50 Baht registration system fee.

Race Format & Start Times
The 2026 event will follow the traditional Pattaya Marathon format, with four race categories. All races starting from Terminal 21.
The Pattaya Marathon 2026 starts and finishes outside Terminal 21 Pattaya on North Pattaya Road.
After leaving the start area, runners head south along Pattaya Beach Road, passing Central Pattaya Beach before turning inland near Bali Hai Pier.
The course then climbs Thappraya Road before joining Jomtien Second Road and continuing through much of the Jomtien area. After reaching the northern end of Jomtien Beach, runners turn back towards central Pattaya before heading west along Sukhumvit Road.
After reaching Sukhumvit Road, runners complete an out-and-back section before returning towards Jomtien. This long straight stretch provides one of the fastest parts of the course and allows runners to settle into a consistent pace.
The route then heads back through the Jomtien and Thappraya areas before returning to Pattaya Beach Road for the final kilometres. The race finishes outside Terminal 21 Pattaya, where runners complete the full 42.195 km marathon.
The course combines long, fast straights with scenic coastal sections along both Pattaya Beach and Jomtien Beach, offering a mix of city and seaside running.

What Is Thailand Extreme Fest?
Thailand Extreme Fest is a national-level competition organised in partnership with the Thailand Extreme Sports Association, aimed at developing local athletes and promoting extreme sports across the country.
Around 300 to 400 competitors are expected to take part, competing for ranking points and potential selection pathways towards international events, including future Olympic qualification.
Beyond the competition side, the event is also designed to promote Pattaya as a sports and events destination, not just a party and nightlife city.
