    With Buakaw one of Thailand’s best-known combat sports stars and Meng already having shared the ring with him once, the rematch provides a strong headline for the Pattaya event.

    Cyclists can join a weekend of riding and social activities at the Cycle Hub Friendship Ride Chonburi 2026, taking place on 19–20 September 2026 in the Pattaya and Chonburi area.

    Organised by Cycle Hub, the event combines a relaxed 40-kilometre warm-up ride on Saturday with an 80-kilometre Friendship Ride on Sunday, with routes taking riders through the scenic roads of Chonburi and the Eastern Seaboard.

    Pattaya’s annual Bikini Beach Race returns on Halloween this year, with the 10th anniversary edition taking place along Pattaya Beach on Saturday, October 31, 2026.

    Despite the name, this is much more of a colourful 5K beach fun run and party than the title might suggest. Bikinis are certainly part of the event’s visual identity, but they are not required, and previous editions have seen runners taking part in everything from regular running gear to elaborate and novelty costumes.

    With the race followed by a beach party, music and the newly promoted “Glow Party”, the event is as much about the atmosphere as the running.

    A 5K run on Pattaya Beach

    The race covers 5 kilometres entirely on the sand at Pattaya Beach, starting and finishing in front of Central Pattaya.

    The route heads along the beach before turning around at the northern and southern ends and returning to the Central Pattaya area. Running 5 km on sand is rather different from running the same distance on a road, but this is primarily intended as a fun and social event rather than a serious competitive race.

    The event has become surprisingly large in recent years. The 2025 edition attracted more than 5,000 runners from around 30 countries, turning a large section of Pattaya Beach into a lively spectacle.

    That also makes it worth considering if you aren’t planning to run. Spectators can watch the runners, enjoy the atmosphere around the start and finish area and stay on for the entertainment afterwards.

    Do you actually have to wear a bikini?

    No.

    While bikinis and beachwear are obviously a major part of the event’s identity, there is no requirement to run in a bikini or swimwear. Normal running clothes are perfectly fine, and costumes have traditionally been a feature of the event.

    In previous years, runners have turned up in all kinds of colourful and novelty outfits, with costume competitions forming part of the post-race celebrations.

    That should be even more noticeable in 2026, as the race falls on Halloween.

    So if you’re looking for a Halloween event with a difference, the Pattaya International Bikini Beach Race 2026 offers plenty of scope for dressing up without taking the name of the race too literally.

    More than just a run

    The organisers are promoting this year’s event as:

    The Central Pattaya beachfront is the main focal point, with the race starting and finishing directly in front of the shopping centre. This is also where the post-race entertainment takes place, making it the obvious place to be if you want to experience the event without running.

    With thousands of participants expected, the beachfront can become very busy. If you’re attending as a spectator, arriving around 5 PM gives you time to find a good viewing spot and experience some of the pre-race atmosphere rather than arriving just as the runners are setting off.

    The race itself takes place in the evening, and the event continues afterwards with music, lighting and the Halloween-themed celebrations.

    Pattaya Sand & Art Festival 2026: A New Beachside Event Comes to Pattaya

    Pattaya is getting a new addition to its event calendar this August, with the inaugural Pattaya Sand & Art Festival 2026 taking place along Pattaya Beach from August 27–31.

    The event will be held in front of Central Pattaya and is being presented as a new kind of beachside art and creative event for the city. Admission is free.

    At this stage, detailed information about the festival programme is still limited, but Pattaya City says the event will feature contemporary sand art installations, live sand art performances, workshops and other creative activities.

    The theme for the first festival is “From One Grain, Endless Creativity”, with the concept using a single grain of sand as the starting point for artworks inspired by Pattaya and the four regions of Thailand.

    Promotional material now shows five major sand-art installations forming the centrepiece of the event, with designs representing Pattaya and different regions of Thailand.

    Rather than being simply a traditional sand-sculpture display, the organisers describe the festival as combining sand with natural materials, design elements and creative presentation technology. Exactly what the finished installations will look like remains to be seen, but there appears to be considerably more to the event than simply building elaborate sandcastles on the beach.

    Evening shows and activities

    The evening programme looks set to be one of the more interesting aspects of the festival.

    Promotional material highlights both video mapping and a light-and-sound show, using projections, lighting and other effects to bring the sand installations to life after dark.

    The currently advertised showtimes include video mapping at 7:30pm and 8:30pm, while the light-and-sound presentations are scheduled for 6:30pm and 8:00pm.

    There will also be live sand-art performances, workshops and creative activities suitable for people of all ages. One of the more unusual activities is “Sand in a Bottle”, where visitors can create their own small sand-art souvenir using coloured sand.

    With the beach, sculptures and evening lighting all forming part of the experience, the festival should offer something quite different from Pattaya’s usual event calendar.

    The festival is being organised by Pattaya City together with the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association of Chonburi, with Central Pattaya also involved. It is the first edition of the event, so there isn’t yet a history of previous festivals to go by.

    Visitors are also being encouraged to use Central Pattaya’s parking facilities to help reduce traffic congestion around the beach.

    The inaugural Pattaya International Film Festival 2026 (PTYIFF) is set to take place from 22–30 August, bringing nine days of film screenings, special events and international guests to the city.

    While Pattaya is already well known for its beaches, nightlife and major sporting events, this new festival aims to showcase another side of the city by attracting filmmakers, actors and cinema lovers from Thailand and around the world.

    If successful, it could become another significant annual event on Pattaya’s growing festival calendar.

    What is the Pattaya International Film Festival?

    The 2026 festival is being presented as the first edition of a newly reimagined international event, building on the legacy of the previous regional Pattaya Film Festival.

    Organisers say the goal is to establish Pattaya as one of Southeast Asia’s leading destinations for international cinema, with a programme featuring films from multiple countries and genres, alongside cultural activities and industry events.

    The festival is also supported by initiatives such as the Pattaya International Youth Film Festival, reflecting broader efforts to develop Pattaya as a centre for film, creativity and cultural events.

    From August 28–30, films will be shown on the big screen at Pattaya Central Beach, alongside a creative market and other beachside activities.

    On August 29, the Behind The Scenes Film Production Showcase will offer visitors an opportunity to experience the film production process at IFF Jomtien Hall.

    On August 29–30, discussions with well-known film directors will take place at Waterfall Plaza at Royal Garden Plaza, under the theme “Telling Stories with Cinematic Power.”

    These events help make the festival more than simply a series of films shown in cinemas.

    Films at the Sanctuary of Truth

    One of the more unusual aspects of the 2026 festival will be its choice of screening locations.

    A unique new attraction has arrived in Pattaya, with the Sina Beach Club Pattaya now welcoming guests from its offshore location in the Gulf of Thailand.

    Unlike traditional beach clubs, Sina is anchored offshore and can only be reached by complimentary shuttle boat departing from Bali Hai Pier. The premium venue combines an infinity pool, daybeds, dining, cocktails, live DJs and panoramic sunset views in a setting unlike anything else currently available in Pattaya.

    Grand Opening Party on 1 August

    Although the venue is already operating, Sina Beach Club has announced its official Grand Opening Party will take place on Saturday, 1 August 2026.

    A Premium Beach Club Experience

    What it actually is

    Sina is a multi-story deck floating structure covering roughly 1,270 square metres, built around an infinity pool variously advertised as 22, 24, or 25 metres long. It stays permanently anchored off Bali Hai Pier: there’s no cruising involved, despite the “boat club” framing in some listings. Guests check in at the pier and take a short shuttle boat out, typically a 10 to 15 minute transfer.

    The daily session runs from around 2:00pm to 9:30pm (a handful of resellers list slightly different hours, so it’s worth confirming at time of booking), split into two distinct moods: a relaxed, family-friendly pool afternoon, giving way to a livelier, DJ-led sunset and evening scene. After 6:00pm, entry is restricted to guests 20 and over. Dress code shifts accordingly – swimwear by day, “resort smart” after dark, with no flip-flops permitted on the upper deck in the evening.

    The venue is operated by SINA Beach Club Pattaya Co., Ltd., a company registered with Thailand’s Department of Business Development on 10 June 2024 with 5 million baht in registered capital, licensed as a tourist boat and tour operator business. That’s the correct legal category for a floating venue of this kind, and it puts a real timeframe on the project: from company registration to opening day was almost exactly two years.

    The venue’s own “about” copy describes it as “envisioned and built by its CEO over six years in Thailand, starting in 2016” — plausible as a personal timeline for the person behind it, but worth reading as founder narrative rather than a claim about the age of the business itself, which is considerably younger. Notably, no individual is named anywhere in the venue’s marketing or public filings we could find — the founder is always “our CEO,” never identified.

Tables and cabanas are quoted individually and come bundled with a food and beverage credit rather than a fixed cover charge; one advertised package lists a 24,000 baht table with a matching 24,000 baht F&B credit attached. Full-venue buyouts, for up to 300 guests, are pitched at corporates and private event planners rather than walk-in tourists.

    For comparison, a beachfront bar stool or a plastic chair on Jomtien or Pattaya Beach costs next to nothing beyond the price of a drink. Sina’s day-pass floor price alone is what a lot of visitors might otherwise spend on an entire day out, before food, drinks, or a boat transfer are added on top. This isn’t a venue built to compete with the soi bars, it’s aimed squarely at a different visitor: someone who wants a Bali- or Ibiza-style beach club experience and is willing to pay resort prices for it.

    A signal, not just a venue

    It’s worth being careful about reading too much into a single new opening — Pattaya has seen ambitious venues come and go before, and it’s genuinely too early to know how Sina will perform once the novelty period fades and it has to survive a full monsoon season on the water. But the positioning is hard to ignore.

    Sina arrives alongside a broader run of higher-end openings and international-style events targeting Pattaya in the past year or two, and it fits a pattern that’s been building for a while: Pattaya’s operators increasingly courting the same affluent, design-conscious, Instagram-driven crowd that Phuket and Bali beach clubs have built entire economies around, rather than leaning solely on the city’s long-standing reputation as a budget nightlife destination.

    Whether that shift sticks – or whether Sina ends up as a striking but short-lived experiment – is genuinely an open question. What’s clear is that someone backing this project believes there’s a market in Pattaya willing to pay Phuket-level prices for a Phuket-style day out, and that’s a bet worth watching regardless of how it plays out.

    Good to know before you book

    • Access: Shuttle boat only, departing Bali Hai Pier — no self-arrival, no hotel pickup included as standard.
    • Hours: Roughly 2pm until 9:30pm daily; last shuttle out is typically mid-afternoon, with a final return boat around 9:30pm.

    WinterWonderland brings snow to Pattaya

    One of the biggest openings this month isn’t a bar at all.

    WinterWonderland Pattaya has officially opened, bringing an indoor snow experience to the city complete with real snow, ice slides and family-friendly attractions.

    It’s something completely different for Pattaya and offers visitors a chance to escape the tropical heat for a while. If you’re travelling with children – or simply want to experience something a little unusual – it’s well worth a look.

    N4STY Music Lounge opens on Soi Buakhao

    One of the most eye-catching nightlife openings this month is N4STY Music Lounge, which has taken over the former Lek’s Classroom Bar on Soi Buakhao.

    The venue has undergone a complete transformation, with a striking new frontage and a clear focus on live music.

    Early social media posts show live bands performing, and the venue already appears to be attracting attention from Pattaya’s nightlife crowd.

    If you remember Lek’s Classroom Bar, you’ll barely recognise the place now.

    Mami Bar replaces Mod’s Bar on Soi 6

    Soi 6 has also welcomed Mami Bar, which officially celebrated its grand opening on 18 July.

    The venue occupies the former Mod’s Bar, which has been completely rebranded with new signage, décor and a fresh identity. Promoting itself with the slogan “New Bar, New Vibes, Same Soi 6 Magic”, it adds another new option to one of Pattaya’s busiest nightlife streets.

    As is often the case on Soi 6, familiar venues continue to evolve with new owners, new themes and regular refurbishments.

    After Dark brings a fresh look to LK Metro

    LK Metro also appears to have gained a promising new venue with the arrival of After Dark.

    While official details are still limited, reliable local sources suggest the venue has taken over the former Oasis Cocktail Lounge premises and is expected to operate as a sports bar with a more upmarket feel than many traditional sports bars in the area.

    We’ll update this article as more information becomes available, but it’s certainly one to keep an eye on.

    Two new bars coming to Soi 7

    Well-known Pattaya bar owner and YouTube creator Nick Dean (NDTVI) has opened Mystic Bar on Soi 7, with a second venue, Dream Bar, also on the way.

    Mystic Bar occupies the former Rolling Live Bar 4 premises, while Dream Bar is taking shape next door and is expected to open a little later.

    Both venues have undergone major renovations, continuing Nick Dean’s investment in Pattaya’s Soi 7 nightlife scene.

    Visitors and locals can look forward to a weekend of food, live entertainment and beachfront atmosphere when a new food festival comes to Pattaya Beach this August.

    Scheduled to run from 7-9 August 2026, the three-day event will feature more than 140 food stalls, 10 food trucks, and daily live performances by well-known Thai artists and local musicians, according to Pattaya City officials.

    Although the festival is officially being organised as part of Thailand’s Thailand Food Therapy Festival initiative, visitors can simply expect a large beachfront food market with plenty to eat, live entertainment and a lively atmosphere.

    Dates: 7-9 August 2026

    Location: Pattaya Beach

    Admission: No admission fee has been announced, and the event is expected to be free to enter. Visitors would simply pay for any food or drinks they choose to purchase.

    What to Expect

    Organisers say the festival will bring together more than 140 carefully selected food vendors alongside 10 food trucks, showcasing a wide variety of Thai street food and specialty dishes.

    Daily entertainment is also planned, with performances by both nationally known artists and local performers helping to create a festival atmosphere throughout the weekend.

    While a full entertainment programme has not yet been released, additional announcements are expected closer to the event.

    More Than Just Food

    Behind the scenes, the Pattaya Beach Food Festival 2026 forms part of a wider government initiative designed to support Thai street food businesses and promote Pattaya as an international food and wellness tourism destination.

    For most visitors, however, the appeal is much simpler: a chance to enjoy a wide selection of food, live music and a beachfront setting during one of Pattaya’s busiest weekends in August.

    If you’re planning a trip to Pattaya and don’t drink alcohol, you might be wondering whether you’ll feel out of place.

    “Is It a Problem If You Don’t Drink Alcohol in Pattaya?”

    It’s a common question, especially from first-time visitors. Pattaya is famous for its nightlife, bars and entertainment, so it’s easy to assume that drinking alcohol is almost expected.

    The good news is that, in my experience, the answer is simple:

    No. Not drinking alcohol is not a problem in Pattaya.

    Will Bars Serve You If You Don’t Drink Alcohol?

    One of the biggest misconceptions is that bars only want customers who are drinking beer or spirits.

    In reality, they want customers who are buying drinks.

    Whether that’s a Singha beer, a Coke Zero, a soda water or a mocktail usually makes very little difference. In fact, bars often make a better profit margin on a soft drink than they do on a discounted happy-hour beer.

    As a non-drinker myself, I’ve spent plenty of time in Pattaya’s bars and nightlife areas ordering soft drinks instead of beer. I’ve never experienced even the slightest negative reaction from bar staff. Nobody has questioned it, commented on it or made me feel uncomfortable.

    The staff simply take your order, serve your drink and carry on as normal.

    What About Walking Street and Other Nightlife Areas?

    Even in Pattaya’s busiest nightlife districts, such as Walking Street and LK Metro, ordering a soft drink isn’t unusual.

    If you were to sit at a table for several hours while slowly nursing a single drink, staff at some venues might encourage you to order another.

    But that’s not because you’re drinking a soft drink.

    The same thing can happen to someone who has been sitting with one beer for a long time. Prime-location venues rely on volume and customer turnover, so the expectation is simply that customers continue ordering drinks, whatever those drinks happen to be.

    It’s also common for staff outside bars to hand out happy-hour flyers or invite people inside with drink specials. This is simply part of how Pattaya’s nightlife operates and happens to everyone walking past, regardless of whether they drink alcohol or not.

    Are Mocktails Available?

    Yes.

    Many hotels, rooftop bars and cocktail bars now offer alcohol-free mocktails, and it’s becoming increasingly common to see non-alcoholic options on drink menus.

    Soft drinks, fruit juices, coffee and bottled water are available almost everywhere.

    Is Pattaya Only About Drinking?

    Not at all.

    While Pattaya certainly has a lively nightlife and a visible bar scene, that’s only one part of the city.

    Many visitors spend their days relaxing on the beach, visiting Koh Larn, exploring markets, enjoying cafés, watching Muay Thai, trying local restaurants, shopping or visiting family-friendly attractions.

    You can easily have an enjoyable holiday without drinking alcohol.

    Will People Judge You?

    In my experience, no. Not at all.

    Most people simply don’t care what’s in your glass.

    Whether your drink contains beer, cola or sparkling water is rarely something anyone notices, and it’s certainly not something that should stop you visiting Pattaya.

    A Note If You’re Newly Sober

    One thing to be aware of is that Pattaya’s main nightlife areas are very bar-focused, with staff actively promoting drink specials outside venues. It’s aimed at everyone walking past, but if you’re in early recovery you may find Walking Street, Soi 6 and LK Metro more challenging than other parts of the city. If that’s the case, you might prefer to base your evenings around Beach Road, Jomtien, Central Pattaya’s restaurants and cafes, where the atmosphere is less bar-centric than others.

    FAQ – Pattaya for Non-Drinkers

    Q: Can you order just a soft drink or water in a Pattaya bar?
    A: Yes. All bars serve Coke, Sprite, soda water, bottled water and juices. You’re a paying customer and staff treat you the same. Typical soft drink prices range from 50 to 100 Baht, though you may pay more in higher-end venues.

    Q: Are mocktails easy to find in Pattaya?
    A: Yes, in hotels, rooftop bars and more modern cocktail bars. In smaller beer bars, your options will often be soft drinks, juice and water rather than mixed mocktails. Although with that being said, mocktails are becoming more popular in regular bars too these days.

    Q: Do I have to pay a barfine or lady drink if I’m not drinking alcohol?
    A: No, barfines and lady drinks are entirely optional regardless of what you’re drinking. If you enjoy the company and want to buy someone a drink, you can buy them whatever they want while you have a soft drink.

    Q: Is Pattaya good for a holiday if you don’t like to drink at all?
    A: Yes. Most visitors split time between the beach, Koh Larn, markets, malls, cafes, restaurants and so on. There’s plenty to enjoy if you don’t drink.

    King of Fight Sand Fury brings a Muay Thai boxing ring to Central Pattaya Beach on Saturday 25 July 2026. Organisers say admission is free throughout the event.

    The event combines 12 Muay Thai bouts, cultural performances, Thai food and a purpose-built boxing ring on Pattaya Beach. Organisers have also announced a live broadcast on Channel 11 NBT. Here’s everything we know so far.

    The basics

    This isn’t an independent promoter’s event. A preparation meeting was held at Pattaya City Hall on 12 June 2026, led by Witsitsak Wongworachat, Director of the Tourism Development Division, with various city departments and related organisations involved in the planning. The event is being positioned by the city as a way to promote Muay Thai as a cultural heritage asset and a tourism draw, under Thailand’s ongoing “soft power” strategy.

    Why this Muay Thai event is different

    While Pattaya hosts Muay Thai every week at indoor venues such as Max Muay Thai Stadium, King of Fight Sand Fury is designed as a public beachfront event. With a ring built directly on the sand and free admission, it’s intended as both a “King of Muay Thai” spectacle and a tourism showcase, bringing professional fighters, cultural performances and local food together in a unique setting.

    The venue: a ring built on the sand

    At the heart of the event is the Sand Fury Arena — a boxing ring built directly on Pattaya Beach, complete with LED screens, spectator stands, and dedicated VIP, media and athlete areas. According to planning documents and the latest published event layout, the site includes a registration area, food and activity zone, merchandise booths, VIP/VVIP seating and the Beach Arena itself.

    The layout is deliberately designed so visitors pass through the market zone before reaching the arena, encouraging foot traffic towards local vendors before entering the main event area.

    Organisers have also said measures covering security, emergency medical care, hygiene and environmental protection will be in place, although detailed plans have not yet been published.

    What’s on King of Fight Sand Fury

    The programme, as listed on the event’s promotional material, includes:

    • 12 Muay Thai bouts, featuring Thai fighters alongside opponents from more than ten countries. Named Thai fighters include Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee, Saiyok Pumphanmuang and Chalamdam Sor Khon Satun.
    • Organisers have now released the full fight card, headlined by Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee vs Diogo Brasileiro (Brazil) and Saiyok Pumphanmuang vs Raven Hunt (England). The remaining ten bouts feature a mix of Thai and international fighters across a range of weight divisions.
    • A Mae Mai Muay Thai performance — a demonstration of traditional Muay Thai techniques and ceremony by what organisers describe as world-class athletes.
    • A Pencak Silat performance by world champions, presented as a martial arts showcase rather than a competitive bout.
    • A four-region Thai food festival, featuring dishes from the North, East, West and South of Thailand.
    • Organisers have also announced that the event will be broadcast live on Channel 11 NBT.

    One of the headline attractions is former WBC Muaythai and WKN welterweight world champion Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee, who remains active on the Thai fight circuit. His inclusion suggests organisers are aiming for a genuinely competitive event rather than simply staging an exhibition for tourists.

    That said, the event has not yet published sanctioning details, weight classes or round formats for the 12 bouts, so it’s not yet possible to confirm whether the contests will follow standard professional rules or use a shortened festival format. The Mae Mai Muay Thai and Pencak Silat segments, by contrast, are clearly billed as performances rather than competitive fights.

    Same weekend, unrelated event: Tyson Fury in Pattaya

    Visitors interested in combat sports may also want to know that Tyson Fury faces Mariusz Wach at Max Muay Thai Stadium on Friday 24 July 2026, the evening before King of Fight: Sand Fury.

    The Tyson Fury event is organised by Queensberry and Goldstar Promotions and has no connection with Sand Fury beyond taking place in Pattaya on the same weekend.

    Together, the two events make the weekend of 24-25 July an unusually busy one for combat sports fans visiting Pattaya.

    The latest event information confirms:
