The Lowdown
Queen Victoria Inn, Soi 6, PattayaSoi 6 is one of the most single-note streets in Pattaya — bar after bar, neon signs, bar-girls at every door. The Queen Victoria Inn — the Queen Vic to regulars — has been sitting in the middle of it since 2001 doing something completely different.
It's a traditional English pub. Full stop. Dark wood, draught Guinness, pub grub on the menu, live sport on the screens. While everything around it is competing for the same customer in the same way, the Queen Vic has spent over two decades being the odd one out on Soi 6 — and it works.
The Pub & Restaurant
The ground floor operates as a straightforward British local. The food menu covers the expected territory: full English breakfasts served from 8:30am (there's an early bird option before midday), fish and chips, pies, and a Sunday carvery running from noon until 7pm that draws a loyal crowd of expats, retirees and regulars. It's honest pub grub — fairly priced, no pretensions. The novelty of sitting down to a proper English meal in the middle of Soi 6 is part of the appeal, and for the large British expat and long-stay community in Pattaya, it functions as something of a home-from-home.
The bar stocks Guinness alongside the usual range of beers and spirits. Hours run 8am to 11pm — it's not positioned as a nightlife venue and doesn't try to be one.
The Rooms
Above the pub are 33 rooms spread across multiple room types — Budget, Standard, Superior, Deluxe, and the Jasmine Suite at the top. All rooms include air conditioning, en-suite bathroom, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and a digital safe. The upper tiers add a fridge, microwave, and tea/coffee facilities. The Jasmine Suite adds a separate lounge area with a king bed and private balcony.
The Balcony Rooms
This is where the Queen Vic earns its cult status among repeat visitors. A selection of upper-floor rooms have balconies looking directly down over Soi 6, and the night view is something else entirely — the full spectacle of one of Pattaya's most chaotic streets laid out below you, from the comfort of your own space. It's a genuinely unusual experience and justifies paying up for the room type.
Worth noting: the balcony rooms aren't bookable via Agoda (standard rooms are listed there). To get a balcony room, you'll need to book directly through the Queen Vic's own website or arrange it in person.
A Few Practical Notes
The location comes with tradeoffs that are worth knowing in advance. Soi 6 is loud — not aggressively so by Pattaya standards, but it winds down around 2am rather than earlier. There are no lifts, so the upper floors involve stairs. And if you're returning after 11pm, the main Soi 6 entrance closes — late arrivals access the property via a rear entrance on Soi 6/1, where there's a security guard on the door.
None of these are dealbreakers, but they're worth knowing before you book.
The Bottom Line
The Queen Victoria Inn occupies a position on Soi 6 that nothing else comes close to filling. It's the only traditional English pub on the street, and to our knowledge the only property where you can actually stay on Soi 6 itself. For visitors who want a quieter drink, a proper meal, or a front-row balcony seat over one of Pattaya's most entertaining streets, it's earned its place as one of the more distinctive spots in the city.
Open daily 8am–11pm.
Book rooms via queenvictoria-inn.com or in person. Standard rooms non-balcony rooms also available on Agoda.
