The Lowdown
Skybar Summer Club PattayaPattaya's highest rooftop bar combines a rooftop pool, panoramic sea views, sunset drinks and DJs in a relaxed setting high above the city.
Perched on the 27th floor of Siam@Siam Design Hotel Pattaya, Skybar Summer Club is one of Pattaya's more distinctive rooftop venues. The headline attractions are the elevated pool, wide views across Pattaya Bay and a music-led atmosphere that gradually becomes livelier as the sun goes down.
Despite the "club" in its name, Skybar Summer Club isn't really a full-blown nightclub. It's better thought of as a rooftop pool and bar with DJs, where you can swim and relax during the day, catch the sunset with a drink, and stay into the evening as the music and entertainment pick up.
Rooftop pool and sea views
The venue describes itself as Pattaya's highest rooftop bar and advertises a unique double-decker pool. Exactly how the "double-decker" arrangement works isn't immediately obvious from the layout, but the pool is certainly one of SkyBar's most distinctive features.
The rooftop looks out across Pattaya Bay, making the venue particularly appealing around sunset. During the daytime it's more of a poolside escape, while later in the day the views become a backdrop for drinks, food and music.
One of the most recognisable features is the colourful Macchanu statue beside the pool. Named after Macchanu, the half-monkey, half-fish character from Thai mythology and the son of Hanuman, the statue is more than just decoration: it can also spout water into the pool.
DJs and evening entertainment
Music is a central part of Skybar Summer Club, but the atmosphere is generally more relaxed than the name might suggest.
DJs are a regular feature, particularly around sunset and into the evening. The exact schedule appears to vary depending on the season, so it's worth checking the venue's current social media before visiting if the music is an important part of your plans. The venue's entertainment programme can also include pole-art performances and live ice-carving shows.
This makes SkyBar more of a sunset-to-evening social venue than a dedicated nightclub. You can come for the views and pool, have dinner and drinks, and stay for the music without committing to a full nightlife experience.
Food and drinks
Skybar Summer Club serves a broad international menu, with dishes including Asian noodles, pizza, fresh bites and other comfort food. Cocktails are a major part of the experience, and the rooftop also offers a full drinks selection.
Daily happy hour currently runs from 6pm to 7pm, making that period particularly well suited to combining drinks with sunset.
The venue also offers outdoor movie nights from time to time, adding another occasional feature to the evening programme.
Day pass
Skybar Summer Club is open to non-hotel guests, although there is a charge for walk-in visitors.
The current policy is ฿500 per person, redeemable as credit against food and drinks. Hotel guests do not pay the entrance charge.
The wider rooftop complex also includes BARBÙ on the 24th floor. BARBÙ is the more family-friendly part of the operation, while Skybar Summer Club itself is reserved for guests aged 18 and over.
If you're looking for a pool day rather than simply an evening at the rooftop bar, the hotel also promotes a ฿500 day pass covering pool and gym access together with ฿500 of food and drink credit.
When to go
For the classic Skybar experience, late afternoon into sunset is probably the sweet spot.
You can arrive while the rooftop is still relatively relaxed, enjoy the views and pool, catch happy hour around sunset, and then stay as the DJs and evening entertainment get underway.
Daytime visits make more sense if the pool is your main reason for coming, while later evening visits are better suited to those primarily interested in the music, cocktails and atmosphere.
Because the entertainment schedule can change with the season, check the latest Skybar social posts before making a special trip for a particular DJ or performance.

The verdict
Skybar Summer Club is a good choice if you want rooftop views and a pool without necessarily wanting a full-on party venue.
Its strongest combination is the setting: you're high above Pattaya with the sea in front of you, a pool beside you and DJs providing the soundtrack as the sun goes down. The occasional performances add some extra entertainment without changing the venue into a conventional nightclub.
For a more relaxed visit, come for the pool and sunset. Stay into the evening if you want to see Skybar's more social, music-led side.
If you're expecting a Bangkok-style rooftop party, you may find it relatively laid-back. If you're looking for somewhere stylish to spend an afternoon and evening with a pool, views, food, drinks and music, that's much closer to what Skybar Summer Club is about.
